Expand your knowledge with the classes in this new education summit—The series of four (4) classes that can be taken individually or as a whole group.  Completion of all four classes meets the educational requirements to be listed as an inspector in NPC’s new Pool Inspector Referral Program.

(Wednesday) NPC Start-Up Certification Class - Greg Garrett

This is a 9-hour program that will certify an individual in the National Plasterers Council industry method of properly starting up the water chemistry and care of a newly surfaced swimming pool and/or spa. The course will cover five primary areas: The History and Chemistry of Swimming Pool Surfaces, Understanding Water Chemistry, Using a Water Test Kit, Start-Up Procedures and Start-Up Problems and Solutions. The course will include a test in the proper methods of testing water and conclude with a sixty (60) minute written test. Participants must bring with them a test kit that will test: Free and Total Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness and Cyanuric Acid.

(Thursday) Diagnosing Plaster Finish Problems - Greg Garrett

Learn how to determine the causes and effects of many common cementitious surface phenomenon including discoloration issues, etching deterioration, staining, calcium nodules and scaling issues by gaining a deeper understanding of microstructure of cementitious pool finishes. Presented by Greg Garrett, this is a one day program that will teach Builders, Renovators, Service Professionals and Plasterers the proper way to examine a cementitious surface and how to properly report inspection findings.

(Friday) Chemistry Certification - Residential Pools - Greg Garrett

The Pool Chemistry Certification - Residential Pool course is an 8-hour program consisting of 6 hours of instruction, 1 hour of review and a 1-hour exam. Successful participants will get a certificate saying they are certified in residential pool water chemistry and a patch to wear.

(Saturday) Site Inspector Report Class - Kent Westfall

This half-day course will teach the student how to write an informative and engaging report for on-site pool inspections.
